Digital delivery operations

Keep marketplace orders moving through every rush.

Dira gives delivery operations teams one queue for marketplace orders, store status and exceptions. When a POS fails or a store falls behind, the team sees it first and recovers it from one place.

The situation

Delivery runs on a chain of handoffs. Any link can fail quietly.

An order is accepted on a marketplace, mapped to the menu, injected into the POS, fired to the kitchen and handed to a courier. A POS timeout, an item that ran out or a store that paused and forgot to resume can break the chain without anyone noticing.

Delivery teams often hear about it last, from a guest complaint or a marketplace rating. Dira records every handoff in one event history, so the team sees a problem while there is still time to fix it.

Why delivery shifts go sideways

Most problems are small and fixable. They become expensive when nobody sees them in time.

Failures surface late

A POS timeout or a mapping error often shows up as a missing order, discovered when the courier arrives.

Store status lives in many places

Pausing a store or slowing it down means visiting each marketplace tablet or portal separately.

Recovery depends on who is on shift

Workarounds live in people's heads. The next shift cannot see what was retried, re-entered or voided.

Cancellations leave loose ends

A guest cancels after the ticket fired, and the POS, the store and the marketplace disagree about what happened.

How Dira connects the workflow

One lunch service as the operations team sees it, from the pre-rush channel check to a clean handover.

The store team works from one tablet.

Orders from integrated marketplaces land in one queue. Pause, busy mode and item availability take one tap, and the change reaches the channel straight away.

Recovery is part of the flow

Failures happen in restaurants every day. Dira treats each one as a state with a next step, never as a missing order.

Idempotent intake

Every marketplace event carries an idempotency key. A retried webhook or a replayed order is recognized and never created twice.

Idempotency key per event

Retries with backoff

When a POS stops answering, Bridge retries on a schedule and tells the store early, while there is still time to make the order.

Backoff 30s, then 60s

Degraded mode and manual entry

A store with a failing POS keeps taking orders. The tablet lists them for manual entry and marks each one when it is keyed in.

Replay from the error queue

Failed steps wait in a queue with their full context. The team replays them once the cause is fixed.

Cancellations and voids

A cancellation after the kitchen fired sends a void to the POS and withdraws the ticket, with the marketplace status kept in sync.
